Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains how refund and cancellation requests are handled for Before Signing subscriptions purchased through Paddle. It is separate from the local free trial in the desktop app. Last updated: [effective date].

Paddle handles payment and refund processing

Paddle acts as merchant of record. Paddle processes payments, taxes, invoices, subscription management, cancellations, chargebacks, and approved refunds.

Refunds are processed through Paddle and may also be subject to Paddle's buyer terms, refund policy, payment-network rules, fraud checks, tax rules, and applicable law.

Free trial and paid subscriptions

Before Signing offers a local 3-day free trial in the desktop app without registration or a credit card. The trial lets you evaluate the product before starting a paid subscription.

The trial is not a Paddle trial and does not create a paid subscription. Refund requests apply only to charges that have actually been made through Paddle.

14-day refund requests

If you are not satisfied, contact us or Paddle within 14 days of the relevant subscription charge. We will review the request in good faith and, where appropriate, ask Paddle to process a full or partial refund.

Refund approval is not automatic. Paddle may approve, partially approve, or decline a refund based on the product, timing, usage, fraud indicators, payment rules, applicable law, and Paddle's own procedures.

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any refund, repair, replacement, or other remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other mandatory consumer law.

How to request a refund

Contact us through the support contact published on this website with your Paddle checkout email, Paddle transaction or subscription ID if available, charge date, and a short explanation. You may also use Paddle buyer support or the Paddle customer portal where available.

Do not include confidential contracts in a refund request. If troubleshooting is needed, use a redacted sample unless we agree otherwise.

Cancellation and renewals

Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but does not automatically refund past charges or unused time. Manage cancellation through the Paddle customer portal.

To avoid the next renewal, cancel before the renewal date shown by Paddle. Access may continue until the end of the paid period unless Paddle or we withdraw access because of refund, chargeback, breach, or legal requirement.

Taxes, chargebacks, and payment issues

Taxes, tax invoices, payment reversals, and chargebacks are handled by Paddle as merchant of record. Some tax refunds or billing corrections may need to be requested directly through Paddle.

If a payment is reversed, refunded, or becomes past due, license entitlement may be suspended, shortened, or cancelled according to Paddle subscription status and the licensing rules in the EULA.
